When it first arrived, it was one of the most critically acclaimed titles of the early PlayStation era. And now…it's time to snag more apes.
This time, however, we're going to have the benefit of Sony's new motion-sensing technology. As revealed at the PlayStation Blog , PlayStation Move Ape Escape is headed to North America this summer. "Fun and accessible for gamers of all ages," this new series iteration will feature 15 new levels, and your Move controller will transform into all sorts of gadgets that will let you "scoop, swat and target monkeys." Your goal- find Specter, the leader of the monkey invasion. For all you collector buffs out there, you can try to nab over 500 monkeys and keep track of your acquisitions with the "MonkeyPedia." …smells like Pokemon in here. At any rate, this one will be available on the PlayStation Network; it doesn't seem as if it'll be released in standard Blu-Ray format. But hey, the speed of digital delivery is just getting faster and faster (I downloaded that 1.8GB Dragon Age II demo in like 55 minutes) and times are changing.
So anyway, who's ready to trap some fleeing monkeys? And who remembers that very first game I mentioned above…? It was crazy fun.
