Dead By Daylight Reveals Alan Wake DLC

Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight is about to welcome Alan Wake among its extended cast of Survivors. It even features the voice actor reprising his role.

A trailer on YouTube was released revealing the new survivor, alongside giving fans a canon explanation about how he ended up in the universe. It’s worth noting it isn’t clear if this was official or just a nod to its style. Whatever the case may be, we shouldn’t be all that surprised that Alan’s stepping in.

Dead by Daylight enjoys a long cast of horror icons ranging from legacy horror monsters like Alien to icons like Chucky, Freddy Kreuger, Pyramid Head, and a laundry list others, including collabs with shows and other IPs like Saw and Stranger Things.

Alan Wake 2 To Get New Game Plus This Month

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 has seen great success with multiple nominations at game award shows, and now, it appears that a new game plus mode is in its future. We knew this was on the table alongside its free and paid DLC.

In an on-brand Twitter post, the dev teased that the mode is coming. At this point, we’re not sure what to expect from this new mode, outside of the standard new game plus fare. Considering it’s Remedy, though, we have a sneaking suspicion that this new mode will be more than a simple new game plus.

What do you think? Have you played Alan Wake 2 and wished there was a new game plus mode? Let us know below!

Remedy Can’t Fix Missing Alan Wake 2 Pre-Order Bonuses

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 developer Remedy Entertainment has addressed some issues PS5 players are facing when attempting to access their pre-order bonuses, and it’s looking kind of grim for many.

The Finnish developer took to Twitter to address the missing pre-order bonuses. Apparently, these issues aren’t able to be fixed on its end, and will require the player to take matters into their own hands. The two methods the developer suggests are to try using the restore license option buried behind a couple of menus.

  • Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses

If that doesn’t work, the only option is to reach out to your local PlayStation support and resolve it there. Unfortunately, some places in the world lack local support, and those that do often find their tickets ignored or met with confusion about the issue. Needless to say, this is a very messy situation for everyone involved.

Alan Wake 2 Will Feature A Post-Launch New Game+

Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment has revealed that its psychological horror, Alan Wake 2, will feature a new game+ in a future update, but it will have a twist.

In typical new game+ fashion, players can keep their upgrades and weapons, as well as offer a new Nightmare difficulty, but what sets this apart from most any new game+ is its alternate narrative. This includes new video content and Manuscripts.

Considering the game is poised to have some “pretty significant” free DLC, alongside its paid offerings, we’d imagine this post-launch new game+ could tie into what the studio’s talking about.

Silent Hill Was A “Key Point Of Reference” For Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2

Fellow horror games often give and take from each other, and Alan Wake 2 is far from a stranger to that, with Silent being a “key point of reference.” Previously, Remedy Entertainment also cited Resident Evil as a key bit of inspiration.

Game director Kyle Rowley spoke with GamingBolt, going into more detail on its focus on building a spooky atmosphere. It’s here we also get more about the game’s brand of horror — a slow burn type of horror. This means we may see not many — if any — jumpscares, but rather, much of the game’s horror comes from the audio and atmosphere.

Considering Alan Wake 2 is billed as a psychological horror, it only made sense to make the game with a lot of audio-visual stuff to build the dread of it all boiling over. Whatever the case may be, we can all jump back into Wake’s shoes on October 27.

“The Silent Hill franchise and how it utilises atmosphere and the sense of dread that builds up slowly over time was a key point of reference.”

Alan Wake 2 Will Have A “Solid” Performance Mode

Alan Wake 2

The much-anticipated sequel to Remedy’s Alan Wake is just around the corner. Over 13 years since the release of the original, Alan Wake 2 is finally releasing on October 27.

Communications Director at Remedy, Thomas Puha, explained on X that although the game has been developed as a 30fps experience, focussing on visuals and ambiance, there will be a ‘solid’ performance mode, that comes with the option to increase the frame rate.

When asked by an X user, “Do you mean unlocked with a 60fps target or a true 60fps lock majority of the time,” Puha simply responded — “Still tweaking that.”

The initial release date was slated for October 17 but was delayed by 10 days to avoid the crowd — particularly Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.
