Alan Wake 2 To Get New Game Plus This Month

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 has seen great success with multiple nominations at game award shows, and now, it appears that a new game plus mode is in its future. We knew this was on the table alongside its free and paid DLC.

In an on-brand Twitter post, the dev teased that the mode is coming. At this point, we’re not sure what to expect from this new mode, outside of the standard new game plus fare. Considering it’s Remedy, though, we have a sneaking suspicion that this new mode will be more than a simple new game plus.

What do you think? Have you played Alan Wake 2 and wished there was a new game plus mode? Let us know below!

Remedy Can’t Fix Missing Alan Wake 2 Pre-Order Bonuses

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 developer Remedy Entertainment has addressed some issues PS5 players are facing when attempting to access their pre-order bonuses, and it’s looking kind of grim for many.

The Finnish developer took to Twitter to address the missing pre-order bonuses. Apparently, these issues aren’t able to be fixed on its end, and will require the player to take matters into their own hands. The two methods the developer suggests are to try using the restore license option buried behind a couple of menus.

  • Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses

If that doesn’t work, the only option is to reach out to your local PlayStation support and resolve it there. Unfortunately, some places in the world lack local support, and those that do often find their tickets ignored or met with confusion about the issue. Needless to say, this is a very messy situation for everyone involved.

Alan Wake 2 Will Feature A Post-Launch New Game+

Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment has revealed that its psychological horror, Alan Wake 2, will feature a new game+ in a future update, but it will have a twist.

In typical new game+ fashion, players can keep their upgrades and weapons, as well as offer a new Nightmare difficulty, but what sets this apart from most any new game+ is its alternate narrative. This includes new video content and Manuscripts.

Considering the game is poised to have some “pretty significant” free DLC, alongside its paid offerings, we’d imagine this post-launch new game+ could tie into what the studio’s talking about.

Alan Wake 2 Free DLC Will Also Be “Pretty Signficiant”

Alan Wake 2 will receive free DLC alongside two premium expansions post-launch, and they’ll be “pretty significant.” We’re right at the homestretch for its release, and with that, Sam Lake has decided now’s as good of a time as any to discuss the game‘s post-launch support.

Speaking at EGX Theatre (via MP1st), the Remedy Entertainment creative director was asked about what fans should expect when it launches in a measly two weeks. Apparently, its two paid DLCs will be titled Night Springs and Lake House while its free content drops haven’t been named. Regardless, Lake notes that even its free stuff will be “significant,” though we don’t know precisely how significant it will be.

We can rejoin Alan Wake when the game launches on October 27, after a slight delay to avoid the congested week ahead.

Alan Wake 2 Will Have A “Solid” Performance Mode

Alan Wake 2

The much-anticipated sequel to Remedy’s Alan Wake is just around the corner. Over 13 years since the release of the original, Alan Wake 2 is finally releasing on October 27.

Communications Director at Remedy, Thomas Puha, explained on X that although the game has been developed as a 30fps experience, focussing on visuals and ambiance, there will be a ‘solid’ performance mode, that comes with the option to increase the frame rate.

When asked by an X user, “Do you mean unlocked with a 60fps target or a true 60fps lock majority of the time,” Puha simply responded — “Still tweaking that.”

The initial release date was slated for October 17 but was delayed by 10 days to avoid the crowd — particularly Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.

Will you be playing the game in Performance Mode? Let us know below!

Alan Wake 2 To Be Remedy’s Longest Game Yet

Alan Wake 2

Finnish game developer Remedy Entertainment is raring to release Alan Wake 2 to digital storefronts late next month, and it sounds like it’s gonna be its longest game to date. Control previously held that title, clocking in at around 13 hours.

Game director Sam Lake took to Kinda Funny (via RockPaperShotgun) to address that the Finnish dev has always felt the pressure to produce longer games internally. Traditionally, it’s been a studio full of very tightly-knit story-focused games with Control: Ultimate Edition being its longest title.

With Alan Wake 2 on the horizon, though, it’s going to push players past the 20-hour mark.
