Ready for something a little different?

Redacted Studios has announced that Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma is now available to download on PlayStation 4 and PC. It will release a little later on Xbox One (October 9).

This version is dubbed "Volume 1" and the developers say we'll see two more chapters in the future, each with its own unique story, music, characters and combat mechanics. Said producer Dave Robinson:

"Having worked on the original Afro Samurai video game, I am thrilled that we were able to collaborate with the same creative team once again to bring this vision to life. Having original creator Takashi Okasaki, music director RZA, as well as some of the original acting talent, like Phil Lamar, involved has been a blessing and we’ve been humbled by their commitment to this franchise. It's been a labor of love for all involved and we really think that fans worldwide will truly appreciate and love where we have taken this story."

Revenge of Kuma will cost you $15 but if you want to spring for all three, you'll have to fork over $35 on PC and $45 on PlayStation 4. PlayStation Plus members can get the bundle for the same price as PC players. We reviewed Afro Samurai back in 2009 and weren't exactly impressed, so here's hoping the sequel is better.
