We haven't seen this esteemed flight franchise since Ace Combat Infinity released on PS3.

But now it's coming back and this time, it's going to take advantage of virtual reality technology.

As revealed during the PlayStation Experience, Ace Combat 7 is in the works and will launch exclusively for PlayStation VR on PS4. Sony boss Adam Boyes didn't give us a release date because he says the project is still in the early development stages, but it's bound to be one of the most anticipated VR titles in existence. "Top Gun" made every kid want to become a fighter pilot; now, while most of them have never piloted anything besides a car, they can get the next best thing.

PlayStation VR should get a big boost from this one.
