2K Games’ Gravity Goal To Be Rocket League Competitor

Gravity Goal

2K Games is reportedly in the works of creating a sort of Rocket League competitor under the title Gravity Goal. Industry insider Tom Henderson introduced the report, comparing the game to TRON’s light cycles and noting the player’s ability to use discs to damage opponents. The game mechanic is tied to your speed, so the faster you’re going, the more damage you’ll deal.

The game will let you face off in a series of different matches from 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. Naturally, it still centers around you scoring goals.

While it’s not official, Take-Two Interactive has been open about its full-plate last year with the studio claiming to have 92 games planned to release, many of which slated for mid-2024, and 26 of them getting marked as free-to-play.

It’s possible, if this rumored Gravity Goal game does come to fruition, that it’s one of those free-to-play titles.

Supermassive’s The Quarry Includes Movie Mode

The Quarry

Supermassive Games is hard at work bringing fans to a screaming halt. Alongside The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, the studio is also working on another horror game under the title The Quarry. While this horror game holds a lot of different endings — 186, according to IGN’s preview video — it might be a bit much for gamers to take in.

As it turns out, if you’re more wanting to sit back and just enjoy the story as if you were just sitting down to watch a movie, The Quarry offers players the option to either select a pre-determined path aptly titled “Everyone Lives” or “Everyone Dies.” Alternatively, you can go with choice C and sit in the “Director’s Chair” and fiddle around with the attitude of each character and how they react to key situations like conversations with certain characters or combat.

Additionally, many features like quicktime events, aim assist, choice timer, and more can be altered or some even shut off altogether.

We can all get ours hands on The Quarry when it hits digital shelves on June 10 on both current and past-gen consoles.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

After the fairly recent release of the definitive editions for both Mafia II and Mafia III, we’ve only heard murmurs about the Mafia: Definitive Edition, which is a complete remake of the original Mafia title and scheduled to come out next month.

Worry about the silence no longer, Mafia’s official Twitter has put out a tweet citing it will be part of the 38 games featured in the Gamescom Opening Night Live event. This time around, players will get a narrative trailer.

Gamescom Opening Night Live is scheduled for August 27 at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET. Mafia: Definitive Edition is scheduled to launch on current-gen consoles on September 25 following a delay.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Delayed

Mafia: Definitive Edition

2K Games and Hangar 13 have delayed the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition to this September. Announced on the Mafia website, they cite finalizing everything and COVID-19 as the reason behind the delay.

Originally slated to launch on August 28, we aren’t going to have to wait too much longer to see a glimpse into the world. They will be releasing some gameplay footage on July 22.  At this point, we only have a 15-second teaser.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is now going to launch on September 25.

Mafia: Trilogy Teased, Full Announcement Next Week

Mafia Trilogy

It’s official, fellas. 2K Games’ Mafia franchise is coming back in the form of Mafia: Trilogy. In the coming days before its reveal, fans were… confused. Wouldn’t you be, though? The Mafia franchise’s official Twitter, which was last active back in 2018 suddenly popped back up and started tweeting again. Of course, people knew this meant something was coming.

Not much is revealed, it’s only a 30-second teaser mostly showing Vito Scaletta and Lincoln Clay. The trailer mostly ran off of the concept of family. Vito, who was the protagonist of Mafia II, went on a monologue about killing for 10 years for his family. Lincoln, on the other hand, referred to family as not “who you’re born with, it’s who you die for.”

Mafia Trilogy

There will be a proper announcement on May 19 at 12 PM EST. It won’t just be a remaster for the original Mafia title, but rather a full-on remake. Images were grabbed by keen users who saw Microsoft accidentally launched the sales page early (and quickly removed it). Mafia: Trilogy will supposedly release on August 28.

What do you think? Are you excited to see the Mafia franchise come back after its messy last entry?
