Battlefield 4 Gets Another Major Patch

Okay, let's try again.

Battlefield 4 has been plagued with a myriad of debilitating issues ever since its launch. Multiple patches and updates haven't completely eliminated the problems, but the latest might greatly enhance the multiplayer stability.

Developer DICE has released another major patch for the ailing shooter; it was just released for the PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Check out the laundry list of fixes that should come to the PS4 iteration. Just to clarify, all three patches supposedly fix the "kill trading" issue the team fixed in the PC version. And if you're wondering, they're still working on a big patch for the Xbox One iteration, but you can bet it'll attempt to address similar issues. No version of BF4 has been problem-free.

Players haven't had it easy. Numerous crashing and freezing issues have been reported for a while and although each patch seems to help a little, those problems persist. EA is already on record saying they won't release any more DLC until the game is stable. Probably a good idea.

That's sad when a company can't release a finished game nowadays.

From all the talk it just sounds like these nicotine patches are all the same, they just don't quite do the trick.

They all are for the same reason but your right they don't fix anything. The only thing I've noticed or maybe haven't because I got used to it is the sound dropping out. Seems like that's fixed.

Is the mic sound dropping out or all the sound? The mic sound has been an issue since Bad Company 2. Terrible. I want to love this game (for DICE) but can't even get myself to buy it yet.

Stay Classy PSX…

Back in the ps2/xbox/gamecube era, companies would give it their all because once a game was released, that was it, no patches/updates etc. Now with this freedom to update and release patches it's like companies just let minor issues fly by to meet deadlines which have more of a bigger impact on the "finished" product than they'd anticipated. Tis a shame really.

This rollout is worse than that of the affordable care act.

I refuse to buy Premium unless they can fix it…I wonder how many others are in the same frame of mind. EA really has been a let down this year, should have known what to expect after their SimCity disaster.

This is by far the worst "patch" they have ever released!
They've made it so it is impossible to fight fairly. The server functions are broken, the game lags, and now thanks to this horrid patch, cheap kills occur around every corner.
I mean, seriously. I shoot first, he shoots second, and I die? Really? How does that even work?
Hitbox detection is also a joke with this new patch. At least before I could have fun. Now? Nope. Throw a grenade, have it land beside someone, only for it to do 70 damage. Yes, he was prone, but come on. The thing landed right on top of him!
Oh, and then he killed me with a pistol.
I don't consider broken mechanics to be fun.

Battlefield 4 feels a lot like Call Of Duty, now more than ever.
This is the last time I buy a game in this series. Heck, the future of gaming is pretty grim right now, too. With all of these broken games, micro transactions, and general lack of real innovation. Not to mention how the entire market is dominated by a single genre. Honestly, this industry needs to crash, just so we can restart it with fun and creative games. To "pull a Nintendo" and fix this abomination of an industry.

Simply pathetic. Dice, EA. You've lost me as a customer. (But considering there's so many other dummies out there, one customer isn't likely to turn too many heads)

I may very well be in the minority here, but with each subsequent patch, the gamecrashes have been less aand less. In fact, I haven't had a game crash in a few days…and I'm always on 64-player Conquest on Operation Locker. That was always the worst map for crashes, before.
