Deus Ex: Universe In The Works For PC, Next-Gen Consoles?

Whenever they announce the new Deus Ex , it may only be slated for next-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One) and PC.

Series fans were wondering if the next franchise installment would be cross-gen but according to NeoGAF user Nirolak citing several LinkedIn profiles , the next project might be next-gen-only.

The game in question is "Deus Ex: Universe" and Eidos members Clemence Maurer (Level Designer), Alexandre Deschamps (Game Programmer) and Jean-Francois Dufort (Lead Rendering Programmer) all list the title on their profiles. Nobody mentions PS3 or 360; they all say either "PC/Next-Gen" or "PC, PS4, Xbox One", which further implies that the game isn't coming to the Wii U. For the record, Eidos hasn't confirmed anything concrete about the new Deus Ex , and neither has publisher Square Enix.

Let's just hope they spill the beans soon.

I agree, and that worries me a lot. If there is one franchise I want to stick to its formula, it's Deus Ex.

I think I read somewhere that S-E is preparing two major trailers for the upcoming VGA awards. Perhaps this is one of them. Maybe the other will be something Just Cause.

Maybe the other will be Sleeping Dogs.

Man Square Enix really made it up for Final Fantasy 13 for the western audience the PS3 Generation

Final Fantasy is long gone from what it once was. Both in design and in it's public image. Just think. There's nearly adults now who were born AFTER FFVII released.
I remember being on a phone call with World and the Velocity Gamer guy, who was like 10+ years younger than either of us and he reflected trying out FFVII for the first time. His experience was completely different and disconnected than anyone who grew up with it during it's prime time. There's a whole new generation of gamer upon us and FF just isn't part of them.

Be patient man FInal Fantasy 15 is way different in concept, story, design wise so don't make any rash decisions.

Every Final Fantasy upto date is different in design, setting, story any any other Final Fantasy.

FFVII is only other Final Fantasy I've played.
another reason i like FFVII is because i like watching anime with good characters and story and FFVII had that.

Deus Ex is like Ghost in the Shell anime.

Stand alone complex had great many episodes which involved the laughing man. Haven't seen the second movie but heard it was great.

Cowboy Bebop movie was great

this was my favorite. it was one of the first I watched. On the onset it had this eye roll worthy generic robot gone mad thing, but about 2/3 through it did well to bring it together and add the psychological twist involving religion and if the motivation was for murder. pretty coool

Man hope that someday they make a Death Note type like thriller story using a Game Design which fits that type of storytelling.

People who haven't watched any anime please start with Death Note.

I'm sure they can use Heavy Rain type mechanics to tell a story like Death Note

Good. Don't let ten year old machines restrict you.
Just please, let it be a "true" Deus Ex – based on the concept we all know and love.

Eh… I really hope that there are two Deus Ex games in the works because "Universe" sounds like Destiny's "shared world" concept. They need to create a traditional entry.

"If you want to make enemies….try to change something." Loved Deus Ex. Looking forward to the next one, so long as it isnt an MMO.
