Will your local GameStop hold a launch event for the PlayStation 4? Well, probably.

The retailer has revealed that over 4,200 stores nationwide will be holding midnight launch events for Sony's new console. The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. and the systems go on sale 12:01 a.m. on Friday, November 15. Said GameStop senior vice president merchandising Bob Puzon:

"Our knowledgeable associates and our unique trade programs make us the most convenient and affordable place to purchase everything that you need for a great gaming experience."

GameStop has already held PS4 pre-launch events ; they took place on November 10 and boasted big trade-in promotions that resulted in 90% bonus trade-in credit. You can expect more contests and prize giveaways at the actual PS4 launch event, and some stores will have PS4 demo kiosks available. Personally, I'd abstain until I got the system home, but that's just me. I'm still debating attending the nearby midnight launch…I think I want to know how many PS4's that location has on pre-order, and how many employees will be working for the event.

Nobody tell Microsoft!

I can't believe it's actually time for a new generation. Can't wrap my head around it.

And now for something relevant and appropriate now that a new gen is upon us. I found this post on gaming then and now. Something gamers old enough may relate to, It's pretty funny.

There are no gamestops with in 3hrs of where I live. The local walmart is all we have. I'm starting to get a little nervous about the amount of PS4s they will have available.
