We may have lost Driveclub but Killzone: Shadow Fall will definitely be a PlayStation 4 launch title.
Developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed via Twitter that the highly anticipated sequel has officially gone gold.
This is the game that could highlight the PS4's prodigious capabilities right out of the gate, and fans are hoping for a satisfying, lengthy campaign and a robust multiplayer offering. For even more good news, check out the latest GTTV interview with Guerrilla head of technology Michiel van der Leeuw, who says the team continued to make great strides in 2013:
"Since the PlayStation Meeting, the lighting has improved, the frame rate has improved, there have been a lot of changes to character animation and streaming, and texture quality is now about four times higher than it was back then, so it’s come a long way."
With Watch Dogs delayed as well, Shadow Fall is one of the big games that will have to pick up the slack. And I'm willing to bet that of all those who have the PS4 pre-ordered, a fair percentage will be picking up the new Killzone along with their new console.

Yes yes yes!
I'm not surprised it's the only half decent exclusive the console has going for it… still its not a FPS series which is ranking with CoD or Battlefield is it now…

Id say it is. Just because its not as popular (it is an exclusive) doesn't mean its of lesser quality. In fact KZ is twice the quality of both those titles since KZ2. Doesnt matter what those who are not buying it think, only those playing it and ill be one of them.
I gave you a thumbs down…."still its not a FPS series which is ranking with CoD" your joking right?…. I cannot take you serious my friend.
Well it's not. Not by a long shot. I think the closest it ever got was the interest in Killzone 2. But then it had to compete with Halo which also put it in it's place.
I'll be honest, I don't care for FPS's in general. I played the first 2 games and didn't think much of them. I don't really have a problem with the game itself, but when it is considered the only decent game for the console I want to invest in… that's when it becomes alarming. Had Watch Dogs & Drive Club not been delayed the problem wouldn't be so apparent. I hope you enjoy it, especially if you're willing to dish out the value of a console for it.
Wait I'm confused now. If ranking means sales, then I'd agree. If by ranking you mean quality, then no. Simple.
KZ on the level of CoD? Come on now. KZ2 was good, but KZ3 was garbage all around. Pretty garbage, but still garbage. Resistance 2 was better than anything Guerilla could muster this gen and quite possibly the next.
Umm… kid, Resistance 2 was developed by insomniac…
Ultimadesires…just wow!
Insert futurama "i don't want to live on this planet anymore" meme here.
This is definitely good news. Sony needs it. Apart from that I'm happy for the improvements. It looked great at the PS event n to have it improve that much is good to hear.
I'm bummed about driveclub though. What's up with that? I have realized that the demos shown were really early builds though. I don't even know anything about its single player cause it seems like an online only game. They emphasized leaderboards, comparisons, n competition n such but nothing about single player progression.
Lotta work but its gold. Yay!
Killzone SF is the closest thing to a âmust buyâ of all the PS4 titles set for day one so far.
Looks like the FPS genre is going from strength to strength and will be dominant again this generation.
KZ, COD and BF are my PS4 pre orders.
No reason for anyone to pick up an Xbone until Titanfall releases in the spring.
Yeah, fantastic. I'll wait until it drops to 30 or 40 bucks, as I did with KZ3. They're quality games for sure, and I do like them for what they are, but they're not worth a full price purchase for me. By then I should have a PS4… Maybe.
yah, this will be the game to show what the PS4 can do. It'll be this vs Ryse for technical prowess.
I'm sure GG is pleased many of the other game options competing for their dollar have been delayed. I'm sure KZ SF will receive a good number of default purchases.
It just seems weak to me that the series that made the last-gen exciting, you know that E3 2005 trailer, is the series that's trying to make the next-gen exciting. couldn't sony have commissioned some team a couple years ago to do something that feels fresh? Something outside of a racer and a game that's already been termed by the game's creator as not the sort of game you'd buy a new console for. That being Knack.

Don't worry, Temjin. Patience is virtue. We haven't heard what Naughty Dog has up their sleeves yet.
I'm waiting until next year to get the PS4. I think Infamous Second Son will be the big hit to go up against TitanFall. With Driveclub and Watch Dogs delayed, Killzone Shadow Fall has a lot of slack to pick up, and judging from the previews, it's shaping up really well.
I'm surprised no one is talking about Knack. It's being developed by Mark Cerny, creator of the PS4 hardware!!! If any game will show off the unique features of the PS4, it's Knack. It's a new IP, it's highly creative, it's family friendly but challenging for core gamers, it's a brilliant new generation game!! Why aren't there more people excited for Knack?!?
yup pritty much it'll be better than COD(my opinion)and i'm gunna enjoy the campain and multiplayer.
happy gaming =)
oh joy ANOTHER shooter!
sigh, i was hoping that next gen consoles will usher in a new generation where every second game does not need to be a pew pew big boom ooooo look at that perrrrrty fireball game!
and people say that xbox has nothing but shooters, the console which actually has the most amount of variety lined up for launch!
oh the irony, the irony of it all…….
