The Sun Sets During A Challenging Driveclub Time Trial

Changes in daylight have a significant, even profound effect on driving visibility.

In the latest Driveclub gameplay footage, we see an Audi R8 tackling the difficult Salar de Surire track. It starts out all sunny and soon, the sun sets and we're driving with headlights through a series of quick turns, chasing the ghost car.

Driveclub is all about the connected, immerseive experience. As a community-fueled racer, you'll always want to top your friends and be at the top of the pack. In doing so, you'll sample some of the hottest cars on the planet, which is always a big incentive for the supercar lovers out there. The game looks and plays a bit like a Need for Speed , which means it should feel familiar to most.

The game will be a launch title for the much anticipated PlayStation 4, which arrives on November 15 in North America, November 29 in Europe, and February 22, 2014 in Japan.

There was some kind of weird pop-in on the right hand side of the track at around 1:50, but this game still looks like a ton of fun.

To me anyway. 🙂

Apart from better track detail and graphics (cars look the same, if not better in GT5 – no joke) the night driving looks very, very similar to Gran Turismo 5. So to me, it's nothing new or surprising. It makes think of how high GT5 has set the standard in console racing games. If you don't believe me go to youtube and look at GT5 night video or transition, with cockpit view too. GT6 is looking to improve even more.

Also, for whatever strange reason, two things that GT5 and this game can do, night/day transition and weather, are two features Forza 5 won't be able to do for the Xbox One, last I recall. I know Forza 4 couldn't do it for sure, although Horizon did… time change and night racing I mean.

Never mind… I think I know why now..

Forza Horizon ran at 30fps.. so in turn they were able to add in time change and night driving. Forza 4 and Forza 5 runs HD/60 fps with FM5 for the Xbox One running at full 1080p/60fps, so the full HD and 60fps is taking a major toll on the Xbox One as FM4 did on the 360.

I don't know what resolution DriveClub will run in, but if 1080p, props to them knowing the game is planned to run 60fps. PD of GT can already pull off 1280X1080p at 60fps with night change on the PS3.. so I'm confident they can do full HD 60fps, with weather and time change for GT7.

DriveClub runs at full 1080p HD, but the current build is locked to 30fps, with Evolution still trying to push that up to 60.

very cool. hopefully the visuals lend more to wow me, but then again, my laptop or the quality of the video might be hiding a few things. Still, very interested

so, so disappointed by this!
all the rumours broke out that the creators of motorstorm are bringing us a open world racing sim, and i instantly thought of forza horizon but on ps4.
then they announce it and show us a trailer of a freaking facebook game!
sigh.
oh how awesome this could of been………
sigh, i guess my dream of a test drive unlimited game which was actually good will have to wait another few years.
🙁
