Easy transitions are good.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently available on the PlayStation 3, and it will eventually come to Sony's new console as well. But if you're already playing it on the PS3, will you have to purchase the game again for the PS4?
No. Square Enix has announced that those who own the PS3 version of the recently re-launched A Realm Reborn will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version for free. You won't lose your hard-earned character data, either. Furthermore, it was revealed that a new beta test for the PS4 installment will start on February 22, 2014, which is coincidentally the same day as the system's Japanese launch date . No date was given for the launch of FFXIV PS4.
The game has struggled with server issues since arriving, which has resulted in an apology from Square Enix and refunds for many of those affected. Here's hoping everything will be resolved ASAP.
