Dragon Age: Inquisition Dev Diary: RPG Aficionados Revel

Seeing this dev diary, one starts to feel that Dragon Age: Inquisition could be the epitome of "bigger and better."

In addition to carefully listening to fan feedback after releasing Dragon Age II , BioWare has stepped up their game for the next generation. In this behind-the-scenes video that features plenty of comments from the talented team members, we discover that Inquisition is going above and beyond.

The "bigger" part comes with the sheer size of the world; no more cramped corridors to run around in as in DAII, and we can almost guarantee the cities in question will be bigger as well. As for "better," that can't be confirmed until we play the game, but this is all very encouraging. It'll feel like a true-blue role-playing experience again, and it'll utilize the power of next-gen systems to become more immersive than ever before. More detailed, more alive, more dynamic.

Really, what is there to complain about?

Starting to get cited, might even forgive the DAII debacle, anybody know if this is a next gen only title? I get the feeling if so then my DAI and DAII saves won't matter.

I wonder if you are a silent hero with lots of options again or if you talk and have fewer options like in DAII.

This and The Witcher 3 will be very satisfying methinks 🙂

From what the devs have said, they are going to have voiced characters but they are re expanding dialogue to Origins level of options.

I've never liked the franchise. Call me a graphics whore but the animation and graphics style of the series is just not for me. It's definitely not on my to-buy list.

So a whole new protagonist, eh? I can get down with that. I just hope there aren't any nagging parts like maintaining your "agents" like in Assassin's Creed. That was annoying. The world looks great, and I love open-world games, so I may buy this. Just hope my DA:O and DAII games can be utilized.

This looks better than I expected but Bioware has to impress me a lot before I buy one of their products again. Still I did really like DA:O so if this game captures the feel of that game only bigger, better and prettier then colour me interested.

The Witcher 3 is still in my opinion the better looking game, but I can see the appeal this game will have for people who want to create their own character.

Oh yes. oooh yes. Don't write off BioWare just yet, folks. This will be GREAT.
