Last month Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy graced our Playstations and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I would even say that the remake of the first three games was quite the success. Both in popularity and sales.
All three of the Crash games were remade and packaged all together. Better graphics and some slight tweaks to gameplay improve on the original formula that worked so well.. And another playable character rounded out the package. Even though they are updated and have a fresh coat of paint, they are still very faithful to the original games. Even a secret cheat code (remember those things?).
When Crash Bandicoot Warped came out back in 98, it included a secret demo for Spryo the Dragon . You had to input a code at the main menu and it loaded up a demo for Spryo. Spryo the Dragon was also a great series for a while back in the day.
The kicker is that this code still works on the remake. Well, sort of.
In the N.Sane trilogy if you hover over the title for Crash Bandicoot 3 and input the same code the game acts like it recognizes the code by deselecting the menu colors, but doesn’t actually do anything. At least not yet. Entering the code does not have the same effect if you do it over the other two titles. It only does this when you enter the code on Warped. Check it out.
There is no confirmation that this means anything at all but it’s definitely interesting. It very well might just be a small easter egg for the original game. Or it might point towards the potential of them creating a Spryo remake. Which, in my opinion, would be pretty amazing.
I loved Spryo when I played it on the PS1. The series started to wane a bit as it went on but it was great for platforming and collecting. And it had a great mascot for Playstation as well as other charming characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two games.
But I don’t want to get my hopes up too high. As I mentioned before, this might not mean anything more then a slight nod to the original Crash Bandicoot 3 game code. I don’t want that to be true though. Plus it seems awful purposeful.
What do you think? If they end up making a remake of the old Spryo games would you buy it? Or do you think they should just let it be?
I've been dying to play the Spyro games again. I can't count how many times I replayed them.
If this happens, I'll be REALLY happy 😀

Me too. I was just rearranging my older game systems and I think I'll pop in Spryo when I get done.
I would buy it in a heartbeat. I love Crash but I loved Spyro even more. It would absolutely be a day one buy for me. Been thoroughly enjoying Crash too!
Spyro is my most loved franchise that I never owned and finished. Somehow.
