Didja have fun with the Doom open beta over the weekend?

Aw, missed it? Well, have no fear: If you've got Monday off, you can still dive in and sample the multiplayer fun.

Developer id Software announced via the game's Twitter page that the beta test has been extended for another 24 hours. This means that instead of ending on Sunday, April 17, the beta period will now continue until 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, April 18.

This isn't uncommon; developers often extend betas, especially if they prove popular. You can check out all the relevant info that we posted last week and for more details, you can always visit the official site . Doom is slated to launch on May 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and beyond the slam-bang multiplayer, we'll also get a kick-ass campaign that will last us about 13 hours .

No need, it was awful.

Ya, it was terrible. I get they were going for a classic feel but that falls well short of a good product. The single player looks like a completely different game than what that beta felt like but either way they pushed me away from purchasing the game with that beta.

Yeah… I don't imagine many people were asking for this, with only a 37% positive steam rating.

It just felt slow, seemed to be some weapon balance issues, weapons felt boring, and it seemed to have some respawn point issues on relatively small maps. They also seem to plan on selling maps and weapons through DLC…. disgusting.

The only hope this title has left is a decent single player, but I'd imagine it's not going to be long enough to warrant a full price purchase, best wait til this gets a big price cut.
