Grand Theft Auto V was awesome.
It was awesome when it debuted on PlayStation 3 and the PS4 version was even awesomer .
So, where will the franchise go next? Well, a source tells TechRadar that developer Rockstar is considering creating a "full" GTA installment in Tokyo; apparently, the idea came up after the staff went to Japan's capital for a research trip. This trip involved snapping photos and chatting with some locals, and it actually took place some years ago, during the days of GTAIII and Vice City . They liked the idea back then but a Tokyo-based GTA was scrapped for a few reasons; for one, "the road system was seen to be problematic."
Plus, the team thought moving GTA outside the U.S. posed another difficulty, as the brand had sort of cemented itself inside this country's borders. Those who remember their gaming news might recall Rockstar parent company Take-Two filing trademark applications back in 2003 for "GTA: Tokyo" but obviously, such a trademark hasn't been used…yet.
Lastly, the source says "preliminary" work has begun on Grand Theft Auto VI though they have not chosen a location just yet. What say you? Want to break the U.S. borders and head to Japan? Or someplace else?
Red Dead please…
You'll get your Red Dead at E3 theres rumors of a red dead redemption 2 revile and a remaster treatment of the first one.
yup
I know, that makes me more excited than anything GTA related.
I really was just making a statement in regards to getting news about the next GTA when we havnt heard anything about any other games from them. Potentially more important games considering the support they are still giving GTA5.

It could end up being like the Yakuza series if set in Japan possibly.
To be honest I'd prefer a Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement or Bully 2 or even Agent.
This is the problem with Rockstar they take ages making a decent game. Got to have patience if you want an excellent game by them.
Japan would be a good choice. They're known for their technology so GTA could showcase some exotic cars, weapons and other equipment.
Japan isn't as high tech as you think.
Yeah you right Japan is surprisingly low tech, I don't know why people think Japan is the high tech country, the only high tech thing there is vending machine…
Most likely because in America you here about one store that has a robot as the receptionist. But yes high tech vending machines and a lot of low tech ones as well.
They do have high tech things going on behind the scenes but it can't accept a military budget so even their robots, however novel and groundbreaking, are falling behind the abilities of those being made by the US.
I'll say this though, they make better cars and game systems than we ever could.
Ill agree with you on the cars they are quite impressive. All cars have a hybrid feature and it's actually cheaper to buy the hybrid model. Also with the hybrids when you stop at a light and hold the break down for a few seconds the car shuts off. Then when you release the break the car turns back on. I'm currently teaching English here and most of my day I don't use technology. I get faxes and my school doesn't have an email system. It's still a cash based society a lot of places don't accept debit/credit cards.
Let Yakuza handle Japan use can have anywhere else in the world.
People still play Yakuza i stopped after 3
Rockstar is a developer I trust 100% so wherever they choose I'm all for it!
We need a GTA London.
with Jason Statham
they already did
That old birds eye view GTA from last millennia doesn't count.
We need a GTA London with modern graphics and proper landmarks.
The closest game that does this is The Getaway, and that's all the way back on the PS2.
How about Russia instead?
The size of the map…
I meant Moscow.
Please go back to Vice City…
no. vice has been overused
GTA China with Kungfu mixed in! Count me in! Japan? Eh.
So, Sleeping Dogs, then?
This would be amazing as I loved Sleeping Dogs and no word of a sequel yet..
Okay so bring GTA5 down in price now okay?
as long as they keep their consistency, they can go anywhere they want.
though i was hoping theyd use ALL of la county for gta5 but it was just downtown/hwood area instead. with the addition of lax and antelope valley which was a perfect portrayel of its desert ghetto-ness
We need one in Hawaii.
Lol Yakuza got some competition. I think I will still prefer Yakuza's charm/hilariousness/weirdness of Japan over Rockstar's more fun/gritty take. But hell I'll still play both.
This sounds good!
But…I still wish they would do Vice City – I really love Vice City.
