You had to see this coming.

Shortly after Sony announced the price and date for PlayStation VR, the gaming world was all a-twitter.

After it was available to pre-order, it started moving like hotcakes; while the unit can still be pre-ordered in the UK, it has sold out at Amazon France, Germany, Spain and Italy, which could result in very high demand in the coming months. That's why, as noted by ThisGenGaming , Sony's virtual reality device for PlayStation 4 is already a hot item on eBay. One package has already sold for £475, which is right around $700, and that's without the necessary PlayStation camera. As we know, the base PlayStation VR unit will retail for $399.

Pre-orders open for the Launch Bundle on Tuesday and if Europe is any indication, expect to see more high-priced eBay offerings very soon. After the big announcement, Sony went on to explain the purpose of that Wii-sized processing unit , and they've said there are 160 PSVR games in development , with over 50 scheduled to arrive in 2016.

I need to use it before I buy it. Wearing glasses screwed up 3D movies because the damned 3D glasses never fit with my normal ones. Given the proximity of the screens and lenses to the eyes of users, I have to wonder how well this will work for people with anything less than 20/20 vision.

It usually works with glasses. In fact it even removed the need to wear glasses for some people.

No idea about < 20/20 though. Should expect the worst outcome for that.

After my experiences with 3D tech, both the active shutter glasses and the passive polarized lenses, I'll try before I buy for sure. Hopefully the local Best Buy will have a demo unit.
