It was one of the most praised titles of the PlayStation 3 generation.
Now, we know when the updated version will land on PlayStation 4: Sega has announced that Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will arrive in North America and Europe on May 17; the price is set at $29.99.
The publisher previously confirmed a spring release window and the fact that the title will be available in both digital and physical formats. However, if you're a big-time fan, you should be aware that there will be a limited amount of Squad 7 Armored Editions available to pre-order in North America. This package boasts a unique case emblazoned with a member of the Squad 7 militia, if you're interested.
European gamers get he special European Edition, which includes a 32-page art book and an A3 poster that shows off various Squad 7 members. Click through the link above to find the full list of new features you'll see in this remastered iteration and if you missed it, feel free to check out our review . Also, don't forget that a new entry called Valkyria: Azure Revolution is in the works; catch the latest trailer here .

Damn. I have seen this game running on youtube. It is exactly the same damn game as on the ps3, as far as graphics go.
PS4. Home of the remakes. Still has some high quality games you dont hear about much though. Divinity Sin and especially Wasteland 2.
I don't know what you were expecting really. Also depends on how the game was captured and put on YouTube. Its not the high quality graphics that the game is about. The water color art style was beautiful when it came out.don't really know how they can greatly change that and I wouldn't want them to. Given its a remaster, I wasn't expecting drastic changes to it at all.
Also, you do realize that most of these remakes makes sense right? The position the ps3 was in last gen and it's position now is different. There are a lot of 360 only owners that are on ps4 now. They missed a bunch of ps4 exclusive games. Remastering console exclusive games is a good way for people to actually try those games. Remastering Multiplats though, that's not something I agree with. Having it at 30 bucks is a good thing too. I think all dlcs are in there too.
Also, game preferrence is subjective too. Those two games you mentioned weren't worth looking at for me. Definitely not even close to high quality. Valkyria chronicles has beautiful art style, great combat mechanics (i like turn based games), great story, great soundtrack.
Either way, remastered games aren't aimed at people who already played the game. There will be people who would buy the games again because they loved the original like I will. But it's more for people who haven't experienced the game. Maybe if people buy this, they might get the kick on the butt they need to make console versions of the 2 valkyria games that were ops only. People loved the ps3 game so they made them psp only. Good one Sega.

Hey Sega, if you keep making em I'll keep buying em.
Third time's a charm.
Great game, but this is basically just a port of the enchanced PC version that came out two years ago.
Well… yeah but 4 months ago. And twas EXCELLENT.
Good price too. I'm always up for new people finding out about this game. One of the ps3s hidden gems that for some reason Sega decided to bury by mishandling the franchise.
Oh looky another remaster no one asked for.
I'm really looking forward to it. I hope this remaster sells well and gives Sega the slap in the face they need to get their act together and deliver a proper follow up. I mean, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'd take a remaster of 2 and 3 for PS4 over Azure Revolution any day.
Azure Revolution just doesn't interest me at all. I was so excited when they first announced it, but that new battle system looks awful.
They better freaking release 3 in the West after doing this remake. =S
Great game, but I hate remakes. At least a remake should add to the story ending (like adding 2 or 3 epilogue chapters). Since it is not the case 1005 of the time, then I am a 100% sure I wont be getting this.
