It's one of the most anticipated games of 2016 and it now has a release date.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive title No Man's Sky is set to launch on June 21 in North America, and on June 24 in the UK. Developer Hello Games confirmed the date at a recent press event.
The ambitious space adventure was first unveiled back in 2013 and since then, it has accumulated a serious amount of hype. The strange part is that many still aren't quite sure what to expect, as the gameplay remains a bit of a mystery. We know the premise is exploration and at one point, the developers said there are "18 quintillion procedurally generated planets" to find, which means two players will never see the same things at the same time. You can upgrade your suit, spaceship and weapons, and finding alien races and leaving your mark on uncharted territories sounds intoxicating. Let's just hope is wildly immersive and endlessly interesting, as opposed to empty and boring. We'd love to see how those "quiet moments of discovery" come to fruition in the final product, and the trailers we've seen (like this one ) have been awfully promising.
