After announcing last week that the immensely popular Rocket League was getting a physical retail release , developer Psyonix has more details.

The disc-based release will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during the third quarter of this year (that puts it between July and September), thanks to a partnership with publisher 505 Games.

Furthermore, in addition to including the first three expansions (Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars and Chaos Run), the physical version will also boast some "cool, retail-exclusive goodies." This means the upcoming iteration will undoubtedly feature the most content, though there probably isn't much reason to own it if you've already got the digital version.

Psyonix is on a roll lately, announcing Batmobile DLC for the game in question, and also revealing some very big revenue and sales numbers .
