Worst Street Fighter V Rage Quitters Will Be Punished Severely

Nobody likes a poor loser.

When Street Fighter V launched last week, players discovered there was no punishment for rage quitters online, which really puts a crimp in Ranked play.

Thankfully, the developers were quick to acknowledge the issue and while there is no solution just yet, they are planning "severe" consequences for the worst offenders, as they said in a new blog post :

"Yes, we are well aware of the problem of players disconnecting before the match ends to retain their League Points and their win streaks. Thanks to all of the players who have brought this to our attention.

We are working on a permanent solution to this problem, though we don't have an exact date to share with you at the moment. That said, we are going to take direct action starting next week to punish those players who are abusing the system."

In order to throw down the gauntlet, Capcom needs your help: They've asked players to submit video evidence of rage quitters; in fact, they want to hand over "every instance of rage-quitting you encounter." They've recommended you use the Share functionality on the PlayStation 4 controller to do so.

In other news, the team says they're looking into adding an Arcade Mode , which many consider to be another glaring omission in the game.

It's a fighter…unless players are turning off the consoles in ths middle of a fight, only allow quitting the game by forfeiture which appoints a loss regardless.

Not at the moment it doesn't. Not only does it not count as a loss for them, the winner doesn't receive his rewards. These people need to be banned temporarily like the rage quitters in Smash Bros. And they don't have to turn their console off. They can simply close the application.

Right that's kind of what I meant. They should be able to code a way to detect that.

That's super annoying.

Agreed. This should have been considered before the release. Lol pretty basic.

Good. These turds are the worst. Not sure why capcom didn't consider this before they released the game. When the loser rage quits it doesn't count as a loss for him and the winner doesn't receive the XP and fight money rewards. I've run into a lot of these people in this game unfortunately. Way more than I see in USFIV. Perhaps it has something to do with some of the frustrating machanics. Capcom should take a page from Nintendo and ban them temporarily. Permanently if they continue to do it.

The worst offenders? Punish them all.

The ones that disconnect during the last KO screen to their lose – no question. Develop the system to detect network errors VS pulling the plug.

It really shouldn't be that hard to program in rage quitting detection.

I know there will always be the argument of… "What if I have crappy internet?"

That can be detected during your entire match. So, if your connection as super good and strong, then suddenly you disconnect in the 2nd or 3rd round when you're about to lose, all those conditions and numbers can be processed to determine a rage quitter. It's not that hard.
