Far Cry Primal Day One Patch: Fixes And Brutal Expert Mode

Far Cry Primal is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and you probably won't be surprised to learn that it comes with a pretty huge day-one patch.

Standard fare these days, right?

But at least Ubisoft was nice enough to tell us what that patch includes, as they listed out all the fixes and additions in this blog post . Perhaps most notable is the addition of a new difficulty setting: Expert Mode. Obviously, we don't recommend diving into that until you've acquainted yourself with the game's somewhat demanding survival-style gameplay. Ubisoft says Expert Mode will "go all out and push you to the limits of your ability":

"Expert Mode brings a bunch of changes to how the games works, which will truly test even the most hardcore player. From reduced player aim assists to smarter enemy AI, you'll definitely need to be on top of your game to handle what Oros has to offer."

Additionally, this 564MB update offers a variety of fixes and improvements, like better lighting and beast companion behavior, and tweaked and balanced XP rewards. They even refined the animations of weapons on fire and improved player navigation and camera transition, so the bottom line is that the patch makes the game significantly smoother and more balanced.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft explained why Far Cry Primal is a unique installment in the esteemed series and frankly, after playing for a while, there's no doubt that it's decidedly different from previous entries. Will you like it…?
