Okay, we've got the price. Now we just need an actual launch date for the system.

Thus far, Sony has only confirmed that the PlayStation 4 would launch during "Holiday 2013" this year, which could place the system anywhere between October and December. They didn't reveal an exact date at E3, so when will we get it?

Well, some have theorized we'd have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show in September. But according to European source Gamefront.de citing sources "close to Sony," that release date will actually arrive during Gamescom in late August. That's one of the biggest trade shows in the industry so it's certainly feasible. Gamescom 2013 will be in Cologne and run from August 21 through August 25.

Release date rumors have placed the PS4 at the end of November, while others have said it won't be available until December 13. Guess we'll learn the truth soon enough…

My bet is November, and I'd also bet on it earlier in the month than later.

They are going to have to open up some more pre-orders if this "take as many as you can" thing runs out because I expect that at Gamescom and TGS we will see some more exclusives shown.

That's where my interest is, so far I have no software reasons to get a PS4 early on yet. Bring those 30 exclusives Sony!

It's so weird, I'm SO excited for PS4 and I know it's going to be a blast to get one on Day 1, though frankly none of those launch games are blowing my hair back. NEXT year is when we're going to see the great stuff start to come, I think. I expect I'll divide my time between the occasional PS4 launch title and my PS3 back catalogue for at least a year though, until PS4 eventually overtakes my time completely.

I'm ok with whenever it comes out.

One thing i am questioning now is…I have FF-Reborn pre-ordered for PS3. Are they going to have this on the PS4? Or will i have to have both the systems out? Make me wonder if i should change my pre-order to PC now…hmmm

Yes they will, and you will be able to transition your account from PS3 to PS4. Whether or not you have to buy it again I can't say.

Your characters made are linked to your Square-Enix account, so it won't matter which system you buy the game for since they'll all be connected. Feel free to get any version for it.

It's so weird. I can't find a single retailer except Amazon that is offering an extended warranty. Well, no rush. I just rather buy system and warranty all in one and not as an add on later since some companies can't do that. I'll just patiently wait.

I'm going with the last week of October. That would be a surprise.

It's got to be November if you ask me. Sony said they want to beat the Xbox1 to market.

of course there going to announce the date at gamescom, TGS is too late.
plus the system is releasing first in western markets, so to announce the release date in tokyo, probably the last market to get it, would be even more of a spit in the face!
there already pissed that it was not announced there like all the other systems were, so as if $onys going to go there and announce the release date, and oh by the way were releasing it here last.
