Fallout 4 is a humongous game but wait, lots more content is on the way!
Developer Bethesda has officially revealed the details for upcoming Fallout 4 expansions; at least three are currently in the works. However, due to this massive amount of new content, the price of the expansion pass is rising from $30 to $50.
Yeah, it's a pretty steep increase but check out what we're getting in 2016: First up is Automatron, which is slated to release next month and has the Mechanist character releasing "a horde of evil robots," including the freakish Robobrain. Players will track these foes down and even use the parts to build their own robot! Automatron can be purchased separately for $10 and as Bethesda stated:
"Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices."
Then comes Wasteland Workshop in April, which will go for $5 if you don't spring for the expansion pass. Here, players can design and set stages to capture live creatures. You can "tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers." This nifty add-on features a suite of new design options for your settlements, too. Third on the list is Far Harbor, which is scheduled for May and has the steepest price of $25. You will accept a mission from the Valentine's Day Detective Agency to find a young woman "and a secret colony of synths." In terms of size, Far Harbor will be the biggest piece of DLC Bethesda has ever made.
Added the developer:
"Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we've ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours."
But that's not all. The team said even more content will be announced later, and that new stuff will amount to "more than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features." We can also expect more features and updates, including a "complete overhaul" of the game's Survival Mode. Lastly, Bethesda confirmed that beta tests will be held for each of the aforementioned three expansions on both consoles and PC. If you want in, click through the link above and sign up at the developer's website; participants "will be chose in the coming weeks."
As for the increased price of the expansion pass, the price hike doesn't go into effect until March 1, so if you snag it before then, you'll pay the original $30 asking price. Given all this info, we strongly recommend doing that.
Related Game(s): Fallout 4
Still $29.99 on Amazon if you wish to grab it, I just did.
Lol missed the March 1st at the very bottom oh well.
i just scored it right off the psn. same difference though. i planned to buy it any way but now that they say the price is going up have no choice now
Yep, yep my thought exactly. I was going to grab it when the first DLC launched but with this news might as well do it now.

I grabbed it at 30 does that mean I still get everything before the price hike or do they cut mine down?
I'll pay anything. This game is life. I'm scared that I'm low on real missions besides the main quest. Want it to not end. Want it to be more than Skyrim, though I know Fallout was never meant to be that kind of game.
And THIS TIME we more or less know that the DLC won't break the systeam like Fallout 3 since Bethesda couldn't code for PS3.
Haha I only played the steel dlc I believe that raised the level cap. It didn't crash, but I do remember rebooting the game long after my completion and that mess was a framerate nightmare lol
Yeah broken steel was the biggest nightmare, the frame rate on that one stopped, just stopped, dozens of times for me. The Pitt was probably the best one except being out of Galaxy New Radio broadcast range.
Yeah, you pay $30 now and you still get everything that the season pass offers when it goes up to $50.
Fallout 3 is so unstable!!! But it so great that we just don't care lol Luckily it was never consistently unstable for me
Thanks SirLoin, I know it says so in the article but sometimes a journalist makes logical suppositions to get something done and posted.
I bought the season pass with the game on release so I'm good. But man, 100% increase in price is quite "new-genesque" isn't it!?! Lol I mean Witcher 3 season pass is only $25 and it's story dominant. But I assume it will be way more available content so it's all good. I mean I only paid $5 more than W3 season pass!

Another reason to be a jumpy, grab and go, item near the register kind of gamer that they have turned many of us into since the PS2 days.
Great!can't get enough of Fallout 4,3 month's now i'm only playing on my Falloutstation4:many missions done, bobbleheads 16/20 and magazines 84/123[?],stil about 100 locations to discover/explore[this will take some time,i wil have to search the whole map mjam mjam] and after all this i will display all of what i collected in my selfmade house.
Fallout 4 is everything i hoped for, after some time the dlc and later mods, the best…gimme as much as possible Bethesda…i..want…it ..all..

Feels like I've been everywhere but somehow I still only have 8 bobbleheads.
World: Some bobbleheads are in obscure places. Use an online guide
Yeah,Dukemz_UK is right.
Some are very hard to find/notice,to be honest with some i was very lucky to notice them at all those little bastards,i'm guessing that i also didn't notice some of them
Question…..
1. Can you buy the season pass without owning FO4 yet ???
2. And if so, will it register once you finally get the game????
Reason I'm asking is that I'm waiting for FO4 to fall within my(cheapskate) price-point of $20, but if getting the season pass first before getting the game really works A-OK, then maybe I'll just spring for that cheaper season pass right now & then just keep looking for FO4 to drop to my satisfaction later on.
Plus….. I still have FO3 & New Vegas in my humongous games backlog, so I won't be playing FO4 for quite a while.
With the amount of time you're willing to wait I would just hold off until the Game of the Year edition goes on sale for $40. It will definitely launch at $60, but should be down to $40 within a few months of launch.
YES you can get it now, just input the code. Once you get the game it'll know you are a pimp.
WYO1016,
Yeah, I forgot about FO4 becoming a GOTY.
Good call, & definitely I'll do it that way!
soooo…. "Thanks"!!!!
But while I'm still thinking about it, I'm still super-curious about if you can get a season pass before getting the game(non-GOTY)for it & whether it would work or not.
It totally would.
OK, thanks World,
You satisfied my curio(and I still have my 9 lives pimp streak left)!
Fallout 4 is one of the best games I have ever played. It is a game that has yet to leave my system and when the DLC arrives, it may remain there until GT Sport and/or Ace Combat 7 arrives.
pick one up at local bestbuy yesterday. Cant buy online at bestbuy any more. i also was going to get it any way, just made me buy it sooner.
