Ubisoft Reveals Free And Paid DLC Plans For The Division

What will you get after Tom Clancy's The Division launches in March? Oh, lots of stuff.

Ubisoft has announced the downloadable content plans for the anticipated multiplayer-centric shooter, and it includes both paid and free DLC.

We'll get three paid expansions, which will be part of the game's DLC Pass: Underground, Survival and Last Stand. Here are the details for the first two (Ubisoft didn't give out any info on the third):

Expansion 1: Underground

This first major expansion opens up a new area to players as they explore the uncharted underworld of New York City with up to four friends for intense co-op action.

Expansion 2: Survival

In this expansion, players will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment that will challenge even the most talented agents.

The expansion packs will release "over the course of the year" but we don't have exact dates just yet. No pricing yet, either, but expect industry-standard costs. If you spring for the DLC Pass, you will also receive a sawed-off shotgun and some new outfits and weapon skins. Plus, you'll nab "special monthly benefits including exclusive content drops and special events."

Then there are the free updates, which will feature new game modes. The only one confirmed thus far is a currently untitled co-op mode where a group of players will work together to earn "unique rewards." Hey, anything free is good, right?

Recently, Ubisoft released the full patch notes for the game's latest update, which was available just before this week's beta kicked off. The developers also finally spoke about the narrative structure in the game, which definitely sounds intriguing. Lastly, if you want a peek at the game's Midtown Manhattan map, you gotta check out the Google Maps-like way the team unveiled it.

The Division launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 8.
