Mass Effect Andromeda Team Loses A Critical Piece

Well, we wish him luck, but it's always a setback when a studio loses a senior member.

Senior Development Director Chris Wynn has left the Mass Effect Andromeda team at BioWare, as he announced on Twitter .

He's returning to the U.S. but he didn't say why, nor did he give specific reasons for leaving the team. His first Tweet was met with some surprise and concern by Mass Effect fans, but we should all be optimistic and hope BioWare can come up with a worthy replacement.

In a few later Tweets, Wynn added:

"The Andromeda team is the most talented team that I have ever worked with, truly inspiring to have worked with you each and every day. I will join the passionate N7 community and will eagerly await the release of Andromeda with equal enthusiasm. Thank you and Happy Holidays!"

Later, BioWare issued an official statement to Game Informer concerning the loss of a valuable employee:

"Chris was a great member of the team. We want to thank him for his contributions and we wish him the best in his new adventures. Development of Mass Effect Andromeda continues to move full speed ahead at BioWare Montreal, Edmonton and Austin."

We'll have to wait and see what sort of impact this has – if any – on the development cycle for the hotly anticipated Andromeda . We know little about the project at this point, but it's possible that the new protagonist will be named after famed U.S. astronaut Sally Ride .

I certainly hope that all these people who jumped ship( for one reason or another) won't wind up screwing up what I've come to love & expect from the ME series.
