Now, developer Techland has nailed down a launch date – February 9, 2016 – and thanks to a recent WCCF Tech interview with producer Tymon Smektala, we've got more encouraging details.
First, they confirm that the new map is going to be bigger…perhaps a lot bigger than you might think. Smektala says "there is enough space to take the 2 main maps from Dying Light and fit them into The Countryside [the area in The Following] at least twice." That's freakin' huge! But will the oft-discussed addition of buggies disrupt the parkour goodness? Smektala says nope:
"There are areas of the map where parkour is still essential and a key tool to your survival. We know fans loved the parkour so were making sure it’s still a crucial element. The dirt buggy is something new when it comes to getting around, while parkour will be the familiar favourite which equally has a place in Dying Light: The Following."
Given the sheer size of this endeavor, it's no surprise to learn that the price of The Following has risen from $15 to $20 . If you already snagged the Season Pass, though, you won't have to pay anything extra.
