Some franchises have simply been lost over the years. A few of them really shouldn't have disappeared.

I still think 989 Studios managed to kill Jet Moto (just like they managed to kill Twisted Metal before David Jaffe came back and resurrected it in the PS2 generation). But the Singletrac-developed original title remains one of my favorite games of all time.

And while some IPs just wouldn't translate well to a new generation of flash and panache, I think Jet Moto would be perfect. It could be a high-flying, uber-competitive racer filled with outrageous courses and insanely intense action. Don't forget that 20 racers were jammed onto relatively small courses in Jet Moto and we had some pretty spectacular courses, even in those days. Cliffhanger, Suicide Run and Nightmare stick out in my mind, certainly.

So much could be done with a modern version of the game; I envision a cross between nail'd and Splashdown . I know we're getting Aqua Moto Racing Utopia for PS4 but that's really not cutting it. An inventive team could make a memorable Jet Moto for a new generation.

Which PS1 classic would you like to see a developer revisit?

Seriously the whole extreme sports scene blows these days.

SSX reboot was a step in the right direction but where's Jet Moto, WipEout, Wave Race, F-Zero, or even a quality skating game like Aggresive Inline?
And I want more Motorstorm!
Anyone remember EA Sports Big?
That was a segment dedicated to such games back in the day.

Please at least an arcade port of H2O Overdrive. Anymore the best we have are ports of mobile games. Lame.

I wouldn't mind a Fear Effect reboot.

I think Jet Moto would benefit from Playstation VR.

Drools.

Drools until I realize I'd likely get sea sick…

I could think of a handful of others, but Ben, you hit the nail on the head with Jet Moto. That is my number 1.

It was the first game I purchased for my PS1 (Xmas of '96) and is still one of my favorite games of all time. I'd watch the video demo of it from my JamPack vol 3 demo disc over and over. Last time I played it may've been a year or 2 ago, but I think it still stands the test of time.

A remake or reboot with the classic levels + newer ones would be so awesome! Honestly, I'd buy a PS4 for that. Then I could start with the other games that are already out for it.

But yeah, only the 1st was good in my eyes. 989 kind of screwed it up a little on the 2nd, and the 3rd Jet Moto was not a game I wanted to play. Level design could not compare to the 1st or either sequel, as well as the physics which just felt off.

JamPack! I think I've still got one of those discs laying around somewhere.

I've been saying this forever! Jet moto 2 was a big part of my childhood.
