Prior to the release of Fallout 4 , there were reports that the game had frame rate problems on PlayStation 4 .
But as it turns out, the PS4 version actually appears to be the better-performing version when compared to the Xbox One iteration (even if the differences are minor).
Digital Foundry compared the two versions and found that Bethesda's latest blockbuster runs at 1080p and "usually" manages to hit 30 frames per second on both consoles. But the Xbox One version is at a "tangible disadvantage" due to the occasional stutter that might be due to problems with the console scheduling data from the hard-drive at speed:
"Entering new areas can see second-long pauses, and even switching weapons sometimes causes problems. Matching runs to the gates of Diamond City shows Xbox One dropping to a record 0fps (zero) while PS4 turns the same corner at 28fps."
Now, this may not be an issue for some gamers and almost certainly won't cripple their enjoyment of an obviously top-quality product. Even so, it does seem clear that when such comparisons have been conducted this generation, the PS4 version ends up performing better more often than not.
Another reason why Sony's console has a significant lead right now…?

Wonder if it's the eSRAM this is the exact issue websites were worried of when Microsoft added it. While ridiculously fast it can only buffer a small amount at a time and if a developer doesn't learn to work with it it can create essentially a traffic jam if they attempt to use it but program inefficiently.
Lol at runs "fine" lets forget about the framerate drops then and the bugs.
Have you even played the game? I'm 6hrs into the game and I've yet to experience anything below 60fps and the game has only crashed twice.
He hasn't. He likes to trash games he hasn't played or has only played for 20 minutes.
Are you playing on PC Limited?

I have played the game look up my psnprofile TrueAssassin86x 😉
And besides how about all the issues reported before release.

Jawk,
Yeah, I'm playing on PC. Games like this play better (for me at least) on PC. I'm addicted to the settlement building feature. I see myself spending hours just on this.
PC is the way I'd want to go for this one too LV. Bethesda games work and feel better there. It also doesn't seem to take much horse power to get it running at a good clip, according to testing sites.
My PS4 rental of the game failed to come yesterday so I haven't had a chance to play it. And today's Veteran's Day… so yea. you know. no mail. Oh well. Bless the Veteran's hearts.
Anyhow, I just want to feel it, touch it, smell it for the time being until I decide to play it on PC for reals.

No gameplay frames tripping me up and no crashing in FO4 PS4 but background side ditties do have sputter and reset which you almost can't get past in an open world bigger than 32 miles.

Ran around the Commonwealth for a few hours last night, ran really well. The character models definitely leave something to be desired by the world looks utterly fantastic, very smooth, no technical hiccups I could find. The moment you exit the vault, it's like "oh man, I am back in Bethesda's universe." Hope everyone's having as much fun as I am!

Going on 4 hours of sleep because of this game. I can only imagine World has yet to sleep. I've spent way too much time on the crafting.
LV I had to stop so I could get to work but I tell you I didn't sleep well and it's all I'm thinking of now!
Go to Goodneighbor. The area leading to it chugs pretty bad at times. 10 to 15 FPS lol. Still a blast to play.
Funny, seeing that Bethesda started and developed the game first around XO's specification.
What bugs me is that the Boston things "Debunked" when it was all true anyhow.
I do see frame rate drops during sequences that have lots of things happening at once. I was in a huge firefight with a band of Raiders in some town and there were molotov's and grenades and what have you being thrown everywhere and it did slow down to what felt like about 15 fps.
Didn't spoil the fun, just the only thing I've noticed.
