From the moment Fallout 4 was revealed earlier this year, it has been a subject of some debate: The graphics just don't appear to be all that impressive.
And now, with a bunch of leaked footage circulating, many are voicing their concerns about the game's visual prowess. This leads me to the obvious question:
What are your expectations concerning the game? Do you think a lot of this is just unfounded rumor and the finished project will undoubtedly look better than anything we've seen to date? Or are you legitimately worried? Maybe you don't care either way…? You're allowed to not care, I guess.
Let me say this- Yes, I've been playing it and no, I can't tell you anything because Bethesda would get all upset. I won't tell you what I'm seeing nor will I hazard a guess as to how gamers and critics will respond, as that would qualify as a hint. It's true that some footage we've seen hasn't exactly leaped off the screen but then again, shouldn't we bear the world's massive size in mind? Fallout 4 is absolutely gigantic and in order to create such a world – and one that appears to be entirely seamless, as opposed to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , where two huge major sections were broken up – the developers have to make some concessions, yes?
That's just the nature of the open-world structure. At the same time, perhaps a game like The Witcher 3 is a good example of where our current expectations lie. Should Fallout 4 look as good or better than CD Projekt Red's effort? And what about comparing to other games like Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Grand Theft Auto V ? I could toss in one of The Elder Scrolls titles but we haven't seen one yet on next-gen systems, so maybe that isn't fair. The question remains: What do you want to see? What are you expecting? And if you're disappointed, will that have a negative impact on your overall enjoyment of the game?
Related Game(s): Fallout 4
I have no doubt it'll look a lot better than FO3. With that said Fallout wasn't a visual stunner of a franchise to begin with. The series earned its rep through its gameplay and setting.
EDIT: btw I'd love to see the Elder Scrolls or Fallout support VR. That'd be wicked cool.

Never a stunner, no, but I think it's just crazy talk to say Fallout 4 doesn't look very good. It looks terrific! It won't be the greatest looking game of all time, and who cares anyway?
Fallout will look just fine. That's not my worry. I want it to be more bug free than FO3 was. But the reality of it is, I don't expect it to look phenomenal. I only expect it to play that way.
Will be playing this on PC so no worries. I am more focused on playing @ 60fps the graphical upgrades are a bonus.
Never been particularly concerned with graphics, so everything I've seen of this looks great to me. I'm impressed with the visuals of most games, perhaps because I still play 20+ year-old titles, so this whole debate rarely rings true for me whenever it comes up.
I have admittedly played very limited amounts of the Fallout series (a few hours of FO3), but I did notice the less than stellar graphics in the trailers of FO4.
For such a hyped-up game, it seems almost laughable compared to other titles. However, I agree with bigrailer that it all comes down to gameplay. That is really what people want and expect from this franchise. If that lives up to expectations, I think people will be happy.
My expectations don't even exist. I do not care. Fallout 3 was so good that I wouldn't give two cat turds if Fallout 4 had the same graphics. It is the LEAST important thing about the experience right next to the live no-vats shooting.
I think people are concerning themselves with the wrong thing here. The graphics look good enough for me and whatever else can be improved with mods.
All I want is a game with good and lots of content enough to make me keep playing and replaying it for months without needing a multiplayer tacked on to do that.
So many games look great these days but feel empty because gamers whine about the graphics. Forget the graphics! A game should be fun first and foremost, if you get a game that looks stunning but only lasts 4 hours, don't moan about game time.
Fallout 4 will be brilliant and will keep me more addicted than any of those pretty graphics games.
I couldn't care less not a single Bethesda game has looked all that great even Skyrim with it's gorgeous world had shit character models and I feel this will be the same way.
I turned on Skyrim the other day, on PC even, and I was appalled by how much it's aged visually. Witcher and DA really rose the standard.

Graphics is not a problem when you have 400 hours of gameplay and big open world to explore at your disposal…
Bethesda usually compensates graphical imperfections with heaps of content. If people are going to gripe because Fallout 4 doesn't push the envelope in terms of simple aesthetics, then they are likely looking into the game for the wrong reasons.
Graphics Smaphics!
Who cares? Its Fallout. Enough said.
The game looks good.
Could it be better when it comes to graphics?Yes,but when i have a game that looks good then it's fine with me,i don't care much for improved graphics when a game already looks good.
Also with Fallout it's about gameplay all the way,off course graphics matter, but it's not ugly it even looks good.
For me Fallout 3 is THE best game of all time, and did that game have wow graphics? nope

I think there's a huge difference between Graphics and Art, and I think people tend to group them together.
A game can boast 1080p with all hoopla and lighting effects and whatnot. That's all impressive graphics capabilities.
But games like Fallout and Dragon Age have always had terrible Art. Their character design, faces, structures aren't all that pretty, IMO.
Whereas games like Halo, Destiny, Tomb Raider, Gears, God of War, etc may not boast great graphical numbers, but the art is so beautiful, the "graphics" are considered better.
For me, I prefer nicer art over graphics numbers and effects. But that's just me…
I never understood the controversy myself because Fallout represents hundreds of hours of gameplay and fun to me.
Considering all that Fallout 4 offers with weather and lighting solutions, this shouldn't be an issue at all.
My only concern is whether or not the title has any game breaking bugs in it like Fallout 3 (PS3). I will seriously be disappointed if it does.
As long as it's stable I think I'll be happy with it
I prefer playing Fallout in 3rd person view.
That said, I hope they fix the jumping mechanic in 3rd-person, cuz in Fallout 3, it looked like a 16-bit game. =/
I also hope they remove the level cap of 20 or 25. I love just playing and building up my guy, before doing any big quests. Reaching the level cap at 20 really killed my momentum…
I didnt think the graphics looked bad. Remember it is an open world game.
Look good enough to me . Let s not forget those are pics , i m sure it will look better in motion .
All i really care for is the gameplay .
Graphics a'rnt a problem for me, it looks alot better than fallout 3, gameplay wis it should be phenomanal, just want the 10th nov to hurry up an come around.
I expect another bland world that believes a post-apocalyptic world couldn't possibly have any more vegetation.
Whoohoo,,i got a mail at friday that my pipboy edition has been sent, that's great!with a little luck i can play Fallout 4 today [Saturday],Yesssssssss
