Well, if they're not getting monthly subscription fees, they're still going to find a way to get your money. Just a reminder, though; Silver is optional.
Developer Bungie has introduced microtransactions for Destiny . Gamers will be able to purchase new emotes using Silver, an in-game currency that you can grab with real-world cash. Silver will be available on the PlayStation store and Xbox Live Marketplace.
Starting on October 13, returning NPC Tess Everis will have 18 new emotes for players to buy, but these emotes "won't impact the action game in any way." Also, all players will receive some free Silver so they can purcahse "an emote or two" when they go on sale next week. Bungie says these new items are being used to provide support for the live team for another year. After all, they'll need the help to produce more content.
Microtransactions were probably a given for this game; expect to see more options for Silver purchases in the future.
