Unfortunately, according to most sources, the freshly released Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is kinda broken.

Polygon was none too pleased and it currently holds a pathetic 2.7 Metacritic average .

However, perhaps skateboarding fans can look forward to a vastly improved performance in the future. Earlier this week, developer Robomodo said on Twitter that they're "reading all feedback."

And now, publisher Activision has responded to the backlash, issuing the following announcement :

"We are aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the Tony Hawk fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years."

Well, one can only hope everything gets a lot better. Fans didn't wait all this time to see one of their favorite IPs return to its roots, only to get a shoddy product. No idea what sort of patch or update they'll ultimately deliver but it had better be pretty substantial.
