The crowd just went nuts.
Why? Because SCEA president Jack Tretton has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will fully support used games and won't impose any restrictions or limitations, and the system will not be required to be hooked up online to play games.
Tretton did take a little jab by saying we won't have to perform the 24-hour online "check-ins" the Xbox One will require. Furthermore, Tretton also confirmed that current PlayStation Plus subscriptions will indeed carry over into the next generation; if you're already a member, you'll be set for the PS4. And if you hate DRM, you're probably a big fan of what Tretton just said, and you were one of those applauding like mad.
Of course, PlayStation is all about gaming and they continue to prove that with every passing minute. But the show isn't over yet! The only downside is that you need a Plus subscription to play online, which is definitely unfortunate, and bound to get bad press.
