Star Wars: Battlefront community manager Mathew Everett answered a bunch of questions at the game's blog and he also confirmed that the beta will be available to all.
Yep, EA is going to provide us with enough server capacity so anyone who wants to participate can. That's the first piece of good news. Then, Everett confirmed that playable modes "will consist of both our offline and online modes, including co-op and split-screen co-op." As many as 40 players will be brought into the large multiplayer battles, and the offline playable quest is a co-op mission called Survival.
