Well, it helps when it's totally free for millions of gamers.

Nevertheless, the positive review scores probably factored into the innovative title's success as well.

Ubisoft has announced that Grow Home , the quirky climbing game that debuted on PlayStation 4 earlier this month, is now the fastest-downloaded Ubisoft title on a PlayStation platform ever . The game was available for free for PlayStation Plus members; it was the winner of the first Vote to Play initiative . And as such, Grow Home managed to hit 1.5 million downloads in its first week alone. Said Producer Pete Young:

"We are thrilled that BUD has found a new home in the PS4 community. Grow Home was a great opportunity for our team to experiment and develop new technology and have fun at the same time."

By the way, "BUD" stands for Botanical Utility Droid, which is the hero of the game in question. You should check it out if you haven't already.

I've downloaded and played the game and unfortunately, I got bored after 5 minutes. I'll still try to play the game at some other time just to earn the trophies. ^_^

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, I'd like to see the same game on a much bigger scale. It could still star B.U.D., but have a lot more to do – like restoring vegetation to a barren planet or something. The core has a lot of potential.

I played for about 20mins; not sure if i'll go back to it.
I'm sure the fact that it was on Playstation PLUS for free this month helped those download numbers too – that's the only reason I got it.
