Why should you pre-order Assassin's Creed Syndicate ?

Because you get a very special piece of downloadable content, that's why. And Ubisoft gives you a glimpse of it in a new teaser trailer (see it below).

The video highlights the Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy, which lets players embark on missions for "two of the greatest minds of the industrial revolution." As you should already know, Dickens ("A Tale of Two Cities," "Great Expectations") is one of history's greatest novelists and Darwin produced the theory of evolution. Evidently, in the game, both are in trouble and the player must sort things out.

For Darwin, players have to "defend his discoveries from those who would kill to silence him" and for Darwin, he has a friend who knows a secret that might get him killed… Assassin's Creed Syndicate launches on October 23 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the PC version has a vague "Holiday 2015" ETA.

For more, here's a nearly a full hour of gameplay .

Twist… Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is a secret message to the Templars about 3 specific assassins hoping to turn one of their own to the Brotherhood.

What about modern day story? It's the only thing that could make me decide to play it on the release.
