Ben-DutkaWe still don't know much about Nintendo's next game console, but we still wanted to get an idea of the general excitement level among our readers.
Well, either we don't have a lot of Nintendo fans or this community simply hasn't been impressed by previous Nintendo systems. According to our latest poll, the majority of participants say they have no interest in the Nintendo NX.
I've often wondered if Nintendo is prepared to take the next step and maybe produce some new mascots. I mean, we've got everyone from Nathan Drake to Master Chief over the past decade or so, but Nintendo hasn't exactly delivered anything new. How long can they milk the Mario , Zelda and Metroid franchises? Forever, I suppose.
This week, we want to know what you thought of Gamescom 2015. Sony didn't have a conference this year so that disappointed a lot of PlayStation followers but even so, they showed off plenty of hot titles (like these awesome Gamescom trailers ). Was it good for you, too?
While I have no interest in Nintendo console, I absolutely stand behind them and the choice to keep the "mascots" as they are. It's what people grew up with including me and it's very apparent that even the new games despite an old cast are fantastic.
I don't think anyone's suggesting they get rid of those games, but they should try something new as well.
Right and I never suggested that either. But the article considered them being "milked" and I don't see that. I see a game like AC being milked, while Mario, Zelda and metroid continue to innovate. Characters might be old but the games they are in are obviously great for good reason. You out a new character in that role and it wouldn't be the same.
The NX fee;s forced. it's like, OK we screwed up royally with Wii U (and Wii Should have been the WiiU right out the gate),so let's give up on it and make a newer system.
Well fine, if they go back to 150 price tag. Not spending another 300 or so.
Nintendo does need new IP. I tried explaining this once, and got yelled at over not recognizing Captain Toad. yeah, no. CT is just a new variation of Toad. Nintendo needs new IP. But yes, still employ the old ones. Just not as much. These Mario games are becoming clones.
I'm excited to know the specs at least, but definitely not as excited to actually purchase the unit as I was with either the PS4 or the XBone.
Personally, I think Mario, Link, and Samus can still hold up their own against old and new mascots alike. They're "legends" in my opinion, and it'll have to take more than Nathan Drake and Master Chief to overthrow their 'thrones' as top gaming mascots.
Really?! No Sony conference during Gamescom?! No wonder I wasn't so hyped up about it… The trailers were great I guess, for me at least. As I haven't actually seen those. I do think they were all new ones, weren't they?

I am 1 of the few who enjoyed gamescon since i own both Ps4/Xbox1
didnt see it but i see no big announcements today.
i am interested to see what they are going do with this new game console cos i do like nintendo games with a particular bias to pokemon from my kid hood. but i do want new thing nintendo is cooking up in their R&D labs in japan.
