For the first time in many years, racing fans were deprived of a new Need for Speed entry in 2014.
But that changes this year, as developer Ghost Games is prepping a full reboot. This new project has received plenty of positive press as of late, and it's about to get even more.
Ghost Games says to expect more gameplay footage for this week's anticipated Gamescom event. If you just so happen to be in the Cologne area, you can stop by the EA booth between August 6 and 9, where Need for Speed will be publicly playable for the very first time. And of course, we're sure EA will offer many more details during their press conference, which takes place on August 5 between 12:30 a.m. PDT and 3:30 a.m. EDT.
Me, I'm most interested in hearing more about the story mode. I've yet to see a racer with a compelling and well-done narrative (even though NFS has tried in the past), but I'm willing to keep an open mind. The NFS reboot is set to hit on November 3 for PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PC.
