The patches just keep coming, and they're still pretty damn huge.
Developer CD Projekt Red has revealed the details for Patch 1.08 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ; you can find the long list of fixes and improvements in the game's forums .
There are changes to gameplay, performance, UI and graphics, and although there's no release date yet, we can expect this patch "quite soon." Notably, the patch brings "preparatory features" for the upcoming New Game Plus Mode , and it also does the following:
"In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone's inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour.
This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion's effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values."
Click the forum link above for a full list but you know, they really need to start looking at the water. There are numerous glitches and problems with boats; for instance, I have now fallen to my death three times when in a boat. How? If you're moving around or you try to get off the boat, sometimes your body will magically appear a hundred feet in the air, and then you fall on the boat and die. If you're lucky, you'll just hit the water and be okay. Either way, it's stupid.
And could you please make it so it doesn't take ten years for Geralt to let go of the tiller and maybe kill a Siren that's eating the side of the boat? Oh, and when you fast-travel to a harbor multiple times, boats get stacked on top of each other like a freakin' naval Jenga puzzle. Then they don't work.
'sigh' Favorite game so far this generation. Zero shot at Game of the Year because it might be the most unstable game I've ever played in my entire life.

That's the first time I heard about that boat glitch. I only used boats when I had to.
Fallout 4 will give it a run for its money, but the Witcher 3 is still my game of the year so far.
You had to spend a LOT of time in a boat to get all the question marks in Skellige.
True, but I didn't see a point to getting all the ?'s in the water. They were pretty much all just sunken treasure that wasn't really worth picking up at that point.
The only gear I bothered with was the Witcher gear that trumps everything else and I had plenty of money.
There was no trophy for them so what's the point besides compulsive collecting?
I found a lot of gear in the sunken treasures that were better than what I had, and that included Witcher gear. You don't have to get all of them but it was a big mistake to ignore them, IMO.
Maybe I wait until it's all done updating to play again.
Even with all the bugs it's the most fun I've had since Far Cry 3. I will be playing it agait again which is something that I cannot say for a lot of games.Last game that I played more than once was Demons Souls and more than twice? MGS3 (all the way to big Boss extreme).

i think the hour gear level decrease is good as it allows people to store old gear and get new gear which is a very pleasant gesture by CD Projekt Red cos not all devs as a decent as them. or should i say decent publishers thats proabably more accurate.
happy gaming
Enjoyed reading the article. Sense of humor prevents broken controllers.
Will it fix the frame rate issue that the last patch introduced? Because that basically broke the game for me, I'm fine with 30fps but it was dipping to around 20fps in some parts (like the cities) which is not playable.
Also the potion is not an acceptable solution to the gear problem. I grinded for hours to get every mastercrafted armour set and now I can't use any of them. What they should have done if they have to keep the level requirement is have a blacksmith who can revert your armour to the last version.
All these issues are so frustrating because the game is so awesome. When it works, it's hands down one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Unfortunately, that feeling doesn't last long until something goes wrong.
Bottom line: Witcher 3 needed at least 6 more months of development.
