The fans wanted it and now they've got it. Well, they've almost got it.

Developer CD Projekt Red has revealed, via this teaser image, that a New Game+ mode is coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as the game's 16th and final piece of free downloadable content.

We have no details on it – not sure what the new mode entails or when it will be available – but it's enough to know the developers have responded to widespread requests from the community. This is the most significant free DLC the game has seen; up until now, we've just had a few extra missions, contracts, costumes, etc. But a New Game+ Mode is a whole different ballgame and we can't wait to learn more about it!

And don't forget the two upcoming expansions ; Hearts of Stone will launch in October and Blood and Wine will land early next year. These can be yours for $25 and will reportedly add over 30 hours of gameplay…as if such a massive adventure needed it.

What do you hope to see in that New Game+?

I am level 34 and I feel immortal in the game, a new game plus must offer a harder difficulty setting and some sort of limitations.

I'll be Lv. 36 soon…I'm currently wearing the entire set of Mastercrafted Wolven Armor, including the Mastercrafted Silver and Steel Swords. 😉

Right now I am rolling with the mastercrafted ursine armor set and my specialty is Yrden and the shield magic — Slow them down and recover health with the shield if need be.

I don't know which armor you're using but do you plan to do a second playthrough?

Edit: Wolven armor looks nice — is it light?

I would like to do but with MGS5 around the corner it's going to be very difficult.

The Wolven Armor was a DLC add-on; you can grab it off the Store for free but then you have to do all 6 Scavenger Hunts to get all the diagrams. And yeah, it's light; If I'm only carrying the necessities and not a bunch of junk, my weight's only around 68.

It's the best overall armor by a slight margin because each piece boosts a different stat (attack, adrenaline, sign strength, etc.) and they have a little higher resistances.

I almost exclusively use the Quen sign and a lot of fast and strong attacks (plus the one fast-attack combo where you hold down the Square button), along with Superior Swallow, Superior Thunderbolt, and Full Moon potions.

I wonder if collected gwent cards will carry over. That would mean I wouldn't have to scour the world so meticulously to get all the random ones.

I'm also wondering if you could do new game+ and, since there is no level cap, end up starting the expansions at level 60 something.

A friend of one sent me a picture of the Thank you note promising free DLC that came inside the package. Pretty cool.

I already loved CD Projekt RED so much, and this just increases my affection for them.
My hope for New Game Plus is always that I don't have to redo any laborious tasks (usually gathering some form of collectible) and that I don't have to start over at level zero. Being able to keep all my weapons and/or upgrades is also a nice touch.
