When the executive producer and the other head honchos clash, chances are, the former individual has to leave.
That's apparently what is happening at developer CI Games. Tomasz Gop, the executive producer for Lords of the Fallen 2 , has announced on Facebook that he's leaving the company. He added that he's not leaving for a different job; in fact, he's actively seeking one.
The developer released a statement to Eurogamer , which thanks Gop for his input on the new title but also says:
"We have different visions for further development of the series and Tomasz will not be a part of CI Games' progress."
The company added that they wish to reach a wider audience with the new entry, and they want to focus on a "richer story." They know the story was a little lacking in the original, so they're working hard to deliver a more involving and better-crafted narrative. "We want to bring something fresh to RPG games," the statement finished.
We cited the uninteresting story and the unrefined gameplay elements in our review of Lords of the Fallen , so we're hoping these will be greatly improved in the sequel. And good luck to Tomasz!
