If you plan on going to this year's GameStop Expo, you'll have a chance to check out the future of gaming.

Or so some industry insiders say it's the future. The mega-retailer has announced that Sony's virtual reality initiative, Project Morpheus, will be on display at the GameStop Expo on September 2 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Attendees will have access to a "large array" of Morpheus game demos, though no specific titles were revealed. Said GameStop director of merchandising Eric Bright:

"Having experienced virtual reality with Project Morpheus at E3 this year, I can confidently say that this is something that truly must be seen to be believed."

Project Morpheus is expected to launch during the first half of 2016. Sony says they're not ready to talk about a price , but they've said many times before that they want the cost to be accessible. Any guesses on the final retail number?

It'll have to be $400 to sell, which is a huge loss.

I don't want just some demos and certain bad games to work with it like MOVE, I want it to do things in real games.

I would have to say a game like Skyrim with a fully immersive way to play it at least in terms of seeing the world…that would be pretty cool. I guess racing games could benefit too. So far though, a lot of horror games seem like they might be the go to…could you imagine Silent Hill or Resident Evil? OMG! Fatal Frame?!? I'd pee myself pregame…no lie.
I heard "Kitchen" is very frightening but they don't really have any footage or anything about it. Just reactions of people.

yeah i wouldn't be surprise if it is on show at gamescon it would be the prefect starting point to kick of a marketing campaign for the thing. well i just hope they bring it to argamgeddon in NZ this year or next so we can have a play with it then i could have an idea what we are dealing with.
