Two amazing things happened during Sony's E3 2015 press conference, and we all know what they are.

Yeah, The Last Guardian 's triumphant return and Sony wrestling Call of Duty DLC exclusivity away from Microsoft were pretty huge. But nothing compared to the announcements for Shenmue 3 and the Final Fantasy VII Remake .

We're talking about two projects die-hard fans have been hoping to see for over a decade. Having both announcements at the same show, in the same conference, just felt impossible. And yet, it happened. Now, I'm just wondering: Where are the excitement levels for each game? I think everyone will probably agree that the FFVII Remake is possibly more hyped and anticipated overall, but it'd be a mistake to underestimate the size and fervor of the Shenmue faithful.

On top of which, it's worth noting that Shenmue 3 feels like it will actually happen, while few are convinced they'll see anything concrete for FFVII Remake in the next year (if ever). Maybe that dampens the spirits somewhat. But if you had to take a litmus test of the anticipation levels for both projects right now, I wonder how they'd read…
