The Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is out on PlayStation 4 this week, if you didn't know.
But don't just buy it because you feel obligated. If you think the future of the franchise depends on the sales of this particular game, think again.
Director Hideaki Itsuno clarified the issue in a new GameSpot interview , debunking the idea that there's an actual survey in the upgraded DMC4:
I think it's a bit of a misunderstanding. At the time of Devil May Cry 4, I spoke to an interviewer in Japan and I had given a message to the fans at the end of the interview saying 'Let us know what you want to see in the future of DMC.' I spoke to the same guy this time around for the special edition and I kind of just made an off-the-cuff comment along the lines of, 'We're always listening to your feedback, please buy the special edition.'
So I think the fans with internet have taken that there is a literal survey somewhere with check boxes that will feed into a future game, but it was just a general comment on my part saying that Capcom values fan feedback."
Okay, well, I still believe that if any games in a certain franchise sell well, the publisher is simply more likely to return to that franchise, right? I mean, that's just common sense.
The formula for DMC 5 is quite simple. Include the Dante from part 4, the action from part 3 and setting from part 1.
I couldn't agree with you more.
That would be a killer game, also switch characters while doing combos.I don't think capcom will do it though, they are at a point that they have to make guarantee money and can't take risk.
This right here
I was and am a DMC DMDhard fan, and I will say DmC (rebooted version) was awesome, and as far as move set wise, it is the best of the series. I still feel DMC3 and DMC1 had the better best boss fights (and setting amongst other things), but DmC was no slouch in those departments. I'll be sure to get the remastered version for the ps4 at some point.
Dmc 5 would be great, but I also want DMC sequel, I'm a happy camper if they make both game…
DMC5 is definitely coming with DMC4:SE dropping in.
But how will Capcom do this?
Will they develop it themselves or will they leave in the hand of another?
I personally wouldn't mind Ninja Theory having another go, loved DmC.

man DMC5 and Unreal Tournament 4 were 2 games I've wanted to see or even hear news about for years now, to think all this time has passed only for some assbandits to convince them of a remake
UT4 is playable right now on the PC. It is open sourced and being created with help from the community. It is actually quite good.
that clarified nothing
