If you like twisted thrillers, you should keep an eye on SOMA .

Frictional Games, the team that brought you acclaimed first-person horror titles Penumbra and Amnesia , has released a new – and decidedly creepy – trailer for their new project.

The narrator almost casually talks about the events surrounding his death, and we catch snippets of dark, even downright satanic environments. At the end, we see a nightmarish creature that will undoubtedly make us jump out of our seats in the game. SOMA has been in development for almost five years, so we're hoping for some horror magic.

It's scheduled to launch on September 22 for PlayStation 4 and PC.

The fact that it's from the developer of 'Amnesia' alone makes me want this one.

They're really struggling to make great horror games these days. Back on PS2 we had some fantastic titles like Silent Hill 3, Clock Tower 3, Forbidden Siren 2, Rule of Rose and Haunting Ground.

Now with Silent Hills canned anything horror these days just pales in comparison to the above mentioned imo. Here's hoping SOMA will change this and start making horror games worthwhile again. The genre is in serious need of a comeback.
