Well, duh. It's an MMO. What did you expect?

It took a while for the console version of The Elder Scrolls Online to reach PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and now that it's here, players across North America and Europe are reporting login issues.

The complaints are showing up at NeoGAF and the game's official forums . Bethesda has responded, saying on Twitter that they're working on the problem. They also offer a possible workaround for the "Login Failed" error.

Personally, I have no idea how people can stand this constant instability. If you go by the news, it seems like MMOs never work when they first launch.

They always have issues at launch because that's when you get peak user activity, but developers know that activity drops off eventually, so they allocate server capacity long term, so as not to waste resources. Basically they stabilize as fewer people stop trying to login at the same time and reduce server load.

Well I'll clear something up right now. It does have some small issues, of course it's an mmo. But the login failure which I'll admit I was frustrated with was nothing more than the servers not opening until midnight in your time zone.

When you download the game from the PS STORE it said you could play at midnight EST. Not true. You could not log in to the servers prior to midnight your time. Everyone assumed because they could open the game up at 9 they could play but the servers were gradually letting time zones in. So it's all just a bunch of fluff. Soon as midnight hit success.

The game does indeed work and pretty well considering.

That,s not all true when i got off of work I wasn't able to get on due to the login error, tried multiple times. Then i decided to try the Europe server it let me go through, then i backed out to the North America server and it would finally work and I've seen a lot of people playing before midnight on release date.

Well that's unfortunate, considering the mass amounts of people on and me being in line in the que. All signs point towards the issue being minor in comparison to the hours leading up the midnight.

Fact of the matter is that the ESO facebook page and twitter page were blowing up from the hours of 9pm central time in the US until midnight on the night of release. After that through today it's been successful. Sorry you experienced otherwise, there's always someone.

As far as people playing before midnight, well it just couldn't happen. The ESO twitter page made it very clear that the servers would be opening by region at midnight in your time zone.

The EU server was up and running within a few moments of them having issues as well.
