Well, that's one way to drive up pre-orders.

If you're planning to pre-order the God of War III: Remastered edition for PlayStation 4, you're in for a special treat.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Sony is offering free streaming rentals via PlayStation Now if you opt to pre-order the updated Kratos adventure.

Pre-ordering in North America will net you a 90-days of God of War and God of War II through the streaming service. Cool, right? You will also receive the Fall of Olympus dynamic theme, which can spruce up your PlayStation 4. Even if you're not interested in any of this, you should be interested in the 10 minutes of gameplay Sony showed off; Kratos fights Hades in brilliant 1080p/60fps action!

God of War III: Remastered launches on July 14 for PS4.

I never had the opportunity to play the original and chances are that I probably won't get to play the remastered version as well. I'll be too busy juggling Bloodborne (yes still playing it) and The Witcher 3. Not to mention 2015's game of the year releases on September 1st.

When would I have time to play this? lol

Bloodborne is TOUGH and you have to be totally focused while playing it or even weak enemies will kill you in three seconds flat. I'm still working through it too, though at the last or next to last section now I think.

Rentals? You should get the whole HD collection all games and remasters free for buying an unneeded update that can't help much.

It seems really contrasting to have the person who is buying the slick 1080p version to suffer through laggy, reduced visual quality early iterations of GoW on PS Now.
I suppose it's one of the "you're new to PS with PS4" sort of things.

If you already own the PS3 version of the game, why bother to settle for the PS4 version.

I understand the 1080p x 60fps, but doesn't warrant me to spend 60 bucks again, considering how I remember smooth the gameplay was for me when I played the PS3 version and plat'd.. Moving on.

Not sure whether i want to buy this a second time although the 1080p and 60p is tempting.

Just watched that trailer and imo the battle with Hades was probably the greatest battle in the entire series for me. Unbelievable.

Really? I liked the beginning Poseidon battle, though it could have been the shock value of the graphics.

Don't get me wrong, Poseidon was an incredible moment to open the game with but it was just the feel of the Hades battle that won it for me. The pure evil infused into the music during the fight and the transition of battle itself just had such a dark hellish feel about it that fitted the Hades theme perfectly imo.

All of the bosses are good in their own way and you couldn't really argue with either one being the best but yeah the Hades one did it for me, a truly brutal moment and fitting send off for Hades.

I was never a fan of the design of Hades, rather than an executioner I would have thought of him as more like an evil corpse-like giant on a huge throne made of human skulls or something.

Really slick and sexy but no thanks. Can't be bothered getting the Plat again & the price for an even chilled replay at that.

Technically I only benefit from this because I never bought a copy of the original.

This is all in an attempt to get more PS Now subscribers.

I guess I was so tired last night that I did not see the connection.
