It isn't exactly a first-party title. But as far as Sony is concerned, it will receive the first-party treatment.

No Man's Sky , the hugely ambitious project in development at Hello Games, is a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive. As such, Sony will "put the full weight of PlayStation" behind it.

That's what Sony UK Managing Director Fergal Gara told MCV :

"No Man's Sky has been treated as if it was from one of our internal studios. We have been working very closely with the developers and bringing it into our release program as if we had made it.

We are not going to treat it any differently and we are going to put the full weight of PlayStation behind it. If it all comes together as well as expected, it will be treated like a first-party release; it is not a self-published small indie title on the platform."

No Man's Sky will make its way to PC after launching on PS4; thus far, no word on whether or not it'll release for Xbox One. At this point in time, many gamers are indeed treating the title as a PlayStation exclusive, so what Gara says makes sense.

What we really need now is a solidified launch date. When can we expect that, Hello Games?

Wait, since when was it a "timed" exclusive? They shouldn't polish it too much just to let that work go over to Microsoft Windows.

Not too long after Sony build up the hype for the game, the developer came out to say they will put the game on other platforms.
