Fans of the long-running sci-fi series really seemed to enjoy Alien: Isolation despite its shortcomings.

And as a result, the game has sold quite well. Publisher Sega has just announced that Creative Assembly's title has now sold over 2.1 million copies worldwide (as of March 31).

That's more than double the number they announced at the start of the year, so Isolation 's appeal has definitely grown in the past five months. This also might mean we get a sequel, as the developers have expressed interest in creating another game. What would you like to see in a new Alien ?

As for other Sega games, Football Manager 2015 managed to sell 810,000 units, while Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric shifted 620,000.

Sega deserves a couple bucks. I'll wait for it to be a PSPlus game.

I've actually just started back in on this game. A lot of the reviews somehow knocked it for its length, and I can get that. I don't play for long periods of time, and playing and replaying an area over and over again would be annoying, if I were trying to knock this game out over a weekend.
But in small 20-30 minute sessions, at night, with the lights off and the house quiet… those are some of the most tense gaming sessions I've ever had.
I hope they make a sequel. I'd like to see a move towards a less linear game with an open-world feel, maybe along the lines of Dead Island

I seriously had trouble sleeping after playing, I was so tense. Like, not even scared, so much as just amped. UP. because the game is so intense.

One of my favorite games of last year, and one of my favorite film-based games ever. Definitely has its problems — the last few hours felt like total overkill, in particular — but I've just never felt closer to the feel and the themes of the first Alien film unless I was watching the movie. It absolutely nails the "future according to 1979" vibe. Highly recommended.

They will sell one more when it goes to $20US. It's at $30 at most places I've looked right now, so about a month it should drop.
