PSXE Poll Update: Hopes Are Very High For Star Ocean 5

JRPG fans are still holding out hope for a Square Enix masterpiece.

Perhaps they'll get it with the recently announced Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness . According to our recent poll, the overwhelming majority say they at least hope it'll be a worthy adventure.

Many are convinced it'll be fantastic, in fact. This has always been a great series, especially in the eyes of the JRPG faithful, and the early footage we've seen of SO5 is definitely encouraging. It'll be interesting to see how they construct the combat mechanic, as this was always an intricate and critical aspect of every Star Ocean entry. Can't wait to learn more!

This week, the question should be obvious: What do you think of the official Call of Duty: Black Ops III reveal? We've got the powerful debut trailer and a mountain of fresh details . What's your impression?

As long as the combat doesn't take place on the map then we are set to go.

Tri Ace will do the heavy lifting but Square Enix will at least get their name on a jrpg that doesn't suck chocolate donkey balls.

You've clearly never had chocolate covered donkey balls on a casino boat with LV.

I'm really looking forward to this. The Last Hope was weird.

The battles were good but there's just too many monsters roaming around the map you get sick of it. Those really long dungeon maps doesn't help either. Its like everything went down the drain after the awesome intro-cutscene.

Duuuuuuuude, don't go play Till The End of Time. It's 60,000 times more monsters and grinding levels. Ocean can be the Bloodborne of JRPGs.

I've missed the last couple CoD's just because I got burned out from them.

I admit, I'm interested to see how the new generation will treat the next black ops.

Star Ocean is my number one favorite JRPG series of all time, tied only with Suikoden. I really can't say I have any great concerns. Though apparently many griped about it, I thought TLH was a blast and very visually appealing to boot (with the exception of some pretty robotic motions here and there). This new Star Ocean is enough motivation by itself for me to get a PS4 (even though it is also hitting the PS3). Well… with this, Disgaea 5, and Dragon Quest Heroes I think I will be set. 😀
